CVC has been committed, from the start to being a “HIGH IMPACT” church. Here is my High Impact Church Definition from a book I wrote on that subject:
Definition: High Impact Churches break through spiritual, social, and leadership barriers to establish new churches and new ministries and reach large numbers of new people for Christ. High-Impact churches confront the law of inertia and the reality of human lethargy with a passionate, purposeful pursuit of God’s evangelical plan in their area.
One of the characteristics of a High Impact Church is the existence of clear “core values” which support every ministry of the church. The acronym “High Impact” will help you remember the 10 core values of CVC:
Highest value on Evangelism
Instruction in God’s Word
Glorifying God through the Performing Arts
Healthy conflict resolution
Identify Spiritual Gifts
Ministry led by all people
Passionate about servant’s hearts
Attitude of team amongst leadership
Commitment to honor those in authority
Teaching truth about stewardship
These ten values are the foundation for everything that we do at Carson Valley Christian Center. Even if an individual attending CVC does not know that our list of values exists, they will experience them and even be able to articulate them after some time with us (though perhaps not with the same words or in the same order!).
Whatever your set of values is, it will bleed through what you do and how you do it. Imagine a retail store that does not possess the value of customer service. How many trips to that store would it take for you to figure out that customer service was not a value that they held? It’s the same way in churches: what you value will be communicated and experienced every time you gather together. And the things you do not value will be absent from those gatherings.
Over the next 20 days, you will have the opportunity to read about and study the ten core values of Carson Valley Christian Center. You will also read testimonies from CVC folks who have had their relationship with God significantly impacted by their interaction with a value of CVC. Join us as we celebrate and deepen our understanding of God’s Word and the values He desires us to possess as a High Impact Church.
